Flan Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt sugar until golden, stirring constantly. Pour into a 9-inch round baking dish, tilting to coat bottom evenly.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs. Add sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla; mix until smooth. Strain into prepared baking dish.
- Place baking dish in a larger baking pan; add 1 inch of hot water to larger pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until center is just set.
- Remove from water bath; cool. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
- To unmold, run a knife around edges and invert onto a large rimmed serving platter.
- Serve slices with caramel sauce if desired. Enjoy!
Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until smooth.
- Stir in mashed bananas until well blended.
- Gradually add flour mixture to banana mixture; stir until just moistened.
- If desired, fold in chopped nuts.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
- Slice and serve. Enjoy!
